What goes up, must come down. What must rise, must fall.

Veteran Alex Sulzer is the eighth D-man, in Buffalo. Therefore, he’s now heading down to Rocheter to await his next call up.

With Henrik Tallinder healthy and playing, Ron Rolston had to decide to send Sulzer or rookie Rasmus Ristolainen to Rochester.

The young Finn wins the battle over the veteran German.

Sulzer played just one game in Buffalo on his recent call-up.

Thanks, Wild TV

Former Sabres captain Jason Pominville met with the media after the Wild skated today.

Pominville said that he is very happy to be playing in Minnesota. He also foreshadowed
possible player movement by other Buffalo Sabres.

"There might be other moves coming where you see other guys leaving (Buffalo). I'm pretty happy, so... where I am at".

Interesting comment considering Pominville is besties with UFA to be Thomas Vanek.

Thanks, Mike Harrington, Buffalo News.

Sabres coach Ron Rolston has eight D-men in Buffalo right now. He only needs 7.

Henrik Tallinder will be making his return to the Buffalo lineup tonight after missing the past few games due to an upper body injury. Tallinder will skate with Tyler Myers. Hopefully Hank can help Myers to settle down and remind him to clean up his turnovers and to stop getting caught up ice after rushes are done.

On Saturday night, Rolston scratched veteran Mike Weber for the 2-1 loss in Chicago. Weber was an uncharacteristic –4 in the loss to Columbus on Thursday night, while Myers was –3 that night.

At today’s morning skate, Rolston paired Weber with McBain, Tallinder with Myers, and Ehrhoff with Pysyk. There’s your starting six D for tonight.

Now, Rolston has to decide which D to send down the I-90 east.

Alex Sulzer?

Or, super rookie Rasmus Ristolainen?

Ristoleinen was the 8th overall pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

He’s pointless in six games played so far in Buffalo. He’s –3. He’s had his rookie moments where he looks a bit out of sorts. Thats to be expected from a 19 year old who is playing in the NHL for the first time. By and large, I feel like Ristolainen has acquitted himself well this season. He’s been physical in corners and isn’t shy about using his 6’4 225 lb. Frame to clean Ryan Miller’s crease of debris in the form of enemy forwards.
