In Tuesday night in San Jose, Rick Nash was cold-cocked by a Brad Stuart elbow to the head.

On Wednesday night The NHL Department Of Player Safety suspended Sharks D Brad Stuart for 3 games.

Here's the video verdict:

Ryan Miller has dodged a proverbial bullet. His slight groin strain only side lined him for one game. Thats it. Jhonas Enroth was scheduled to start the Pittsburgh game anyway, so the Tampa game was Miller's only skipped start as he rested and recovered from his lower body ailment.

Thanks, Sabres.com

The haters cannot blame the current four game winless streak on the Buffalo Sabres goaltending. Don't go there.

Ryan Miller and Jhonas Enroth deserve a better fate than being 0-2 respectively.

Miller has made 77 saves on 80 shots faced in his first two games of the season. Thats good for a 1.53 GAA and a .963 save percentage.

Enroth has held the fort with a 2.95 GAA and a .912 save %. He allowed 6 goals on 74 shots face.

After Wednesday's skate, Ron Rolston propped his tenders for their superior play in the first four games of this young season.

Rolston also proclaimed that Ryan Miller is "ready". Look for Miller to start Thursday night when the Columbus Blue Jackets visit the Sabres.

Miller lost to the Detroit Red Wings on opening night. He played like a man possessed on Friday night, yet still lost 1-0 to Craig Anderson and the Ottawa Senators. Miller tweaked his groin in the loss. Jhonas Enroth started, and played exceptionally well in back to back losses to Pittsburgh and Tampa.

The onus is now on the forwards and D to put more pucks in the net.

Mikhail Grigorenko's ice time is not guaranteed. He may well end up being a scratch if his inconsistent play doesn't improve in the next couple of games.

Good news! Nikita Zadorov was on the ice for his first practice today.

The 18 year old injured his finger during a preseason game and hasn't skated with the team since then.

Ron Rolston and Darcy Regier will have to decide if they are going to keep Zadorov in Buffalo for a pro tryout. My bet is that he's heading back to the London Knights so that he can play 25-28 minutes per game for the Hunter Brothers.

Poor Marty Biron.

Trailing 7-2 in the third period of a blowout loss in San Jose, Biron and the Rangers must have wanted to play the final eight minutes of the third period, then shower and hit the bus for the hotel. Tomas Hertl had other ideas.

Thanks, NHL.com

No NHL goalie wants to be shown up by a 19 year old trick shot artist.

Hertl became the youngest player to score four goals in an NHL since March 30, 1988 when 19 year old Jimmy Carson performed the feat. Hertle scored four goals in just 11 minutes of ice time in the 9-2 win.

Hertl now has 6 goals this season, two more than the entire Buffalo Sabres team.

Something tells me that Hertl is going to be given a rough ride by opponents in the corners and on the walls in the 70 something games that the Sharks have left to play this season. No veteran wants to be chewed out by his coach for getting posterized by a whiz kid who has only played in two NHL career games.

Sabres fans are going to have three opportunities to watch future blue line star Jake McCabe and his University of Wisconsin Badgers as they compete for the opportunity to play in the NCAA Frozen Four tournament.

McCabe was Buffalo's 2nd round pick in 2012 (44th overall). He's a junior at Wisconsin and is captain of the squad. The Eau Claire, Wisconsin native was captain of Team USA's gold medal winning squad at the 2013 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships in Ufa, Russia.

Starting Friday, December 13th, with a game between #3 Wisconsin and Colorado College, The NBC Sports Group will present five Big Ten men’s hockey games this season on NBCSN and NBC Sports Live Extra.

The other four games are:

Sunday, January 18th: Penn State vs. Michigan State 6:30 p.m.
Saturday, February 1st: Wisconsin vs. Michigan 6:30 p.m.
Saturday February 15th: Wisconsin vs. Ohio State 8 p.m.
Saturday March 1st: Penn State vs. Minnesota
