GAME PREVIEW 9:00 AM EDT

Coming off a poor preseason and a highly disappointing campaign last season, the Philadelphia Flyers (0-0-0) are under pressure to get the 2013-14 season off to a good start. The team will have the opportunity to start things on a positive note tonight when the Flyers play host to the Toronto Maple Leafs (1-0-0) at the Wells Fargo Center.

Game time tonight is 7:30 p.m. eastern. The game will be televised locally on CSN Philadelphia and nationally across Canada on TSN.

This is the first of three meetings between the teams this season. Following tonight's game, the clubs will not see each other again until after the Olympic break. The next meeting will take place on March 8 in Toronto.

The Maple Leafs, a playoff team last season, won their regular season opener last night in Montreal. In a seesaw 4-3 affair, James van Riemsdyk (power play), Dion Phaneuf, Tyler Bozak (shorthanded) and Mason Raymond tallied goals for Toronto. James Reimer got the start and victory in net. New goaltending addition Jonathan Bernier will make his regular season debut tonight in Philadelphia.

The Flyers struggled through a 1-5-1 preseason that saw the club plagued by many of the same team defense issues that doomed the club to missing the playoffs last season despite having the NHL's combined top-ranked special teams. Tonight's game marks the regular season Flyers debuts of Vincent Lecavalier and Mark Street.
