The New Jersey Devils made another move today in their efforts to get down to the 23-man roster limit.

Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello has decided the team does not need an enforcer and since has placed Cam Janssen on waivers.

If Janssen clears, he will be assigned to Albany to start the season.

Personally, I think the Devils were smart to move Krys Barch and send Janssen to Albany. Ryan Carter, Steve Bernier and Ryane Clowe can all fight if necessary. There's no need to use a roster spot on a tough guy like Janssen when you'd be getting rid of a good player in order to make room for him.

I'm still waiting for word on who has or hasn't been sent to Albany. I'll update this post when I find out.
