The Roundtable on Preseason Impressions |

The Tampa Bay Lightning has asked me to be a part of the organization’s Blogger Roundtable. This new feature, which has a number of independent writers weigh in on issues surrounding the team, will be a weekly column on the team’s website.
Today's question has to do with preseason impressions. Many of the Lightning’s players have played well through the exhibition schedule, as evidenced by the team’s 5-1-0 record. Which player, in particular, has made the biggest impression since the preseason started earlier this month? I’ve posted my answer below; you can check out the rest of the responses
right here.
Share the biggest impressions made by a Lightning player during this preseason.
A number of Lightning players have looked very impressive since the team’s preseason opened last week; Brett Connolly, in particular, has looked phenomenal. In just two contests, the young forward has tallied three goals and compiled a very impressive plus-minus rating. Looking beyond the stats, it’s abundantly clear that he is a different player now than he was at this time last year.
Perhaps most impressive is the fact that Brett has managed to create chemistry and generate opportunities with everyone he’s played with since the Lightning’s training camp started. That's a special quality. Simply put, he looks poised and ready for fulltime duty with the Lightning this year. If he can continue to play well at both ends of the ice for the remainder of the preseason, it will be incredibly hard for the Lightning’s coaching staff to leave him off the opening night roster. He’s been that good.

I should note that this answer was submitted to the Lightning earlier this week. Brett has since suited up for two more preseason contests and his statistics remain the same.
Now it’s your call! Which Lightning player has made the biggest impression this preseason? Let me know in the comments section.
As always, thanks for reading.
