Update 10:20: Okposo is fine, just a cut above his eye.

Update 9:44p:

The Islanders made their debut in Brooklyn tonight but came up short losing to the Devils 3-0 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The Isles had numerous scoring chances but new Devil goaltender Cory Schneider was up to the task. The Isles were for the most part flat especially on the power play where they were scoreless on five chances.

Their were a few bright spots during the game as Matt Donovan and Griffin Reinhart continue to impress. Matt Donovan looks like a NHL regular and I would be shocked if he didn't make this team. Reinhart will be an interesting decision as he is not eligible to report to the AHL. It's either juniors or the Islanders. Even if big Griff doesn't make the team you have to be encouraged by his development.

Kyle Okposo was clipped with a high stick in the third. When I get an update on his status I will pass that along, however from watching the play it just looks like something some stiches can fix.

===========================================================
The Islanders and Devils will battle again tonight at 7PM in Brooklyn as the Barclays Center will host its first ever hockey game. Here are the line combos for tonights game. Is it just me or is Griffin Reinhart getting a real long look by the Islander coaching staff? I will have post game thoughts up later tonight. For all those going tonight, enjoy a great day of hockey
