Forsberg is telling people close to him that he wants to play in Canada.

Sources close to Forsberg tell me Vancouver is Forsberg's number one choice. He would like nothing more than to play with his best friend and fellow countryman Markus Naslund.

Obviously we should know for sure later today if Forsberg is on his way out of Philadelphia, but as one player put it, there is now way he stays.

Like Eklund has already reported, Montreal is interested in Forsberg. They have Tkachuk and Guerin penciled in as plan B and C.

Don't expect Guerin or Tkachuk to be moved until a Forsberg deal is made.

Forsberg looked good Saturday vs. St. Louis. You can tell he still mildly favors his surgically repaired ankle. He's not going 100% right now. Forsberg is pretty much keeping it on cruise control. A player said these games are exhibitions to him until he gets traded and gears up for the playoffs.

There were plenty of scouts at the Flyers, Blues game on Saturday. Vancouver, Pittsburgh, Montreal, Tampa Bay and Detroit were among those in attendance.

More on Eric Brewer, Keith Tkachuk, and Billy Guerin later today or tomorrow.

Plus my meeting with the one and only Eklund!

More to come,

Andy Strickland
