GM Dale Tallon mentioned over the summer that the days of letting young players mature in the AHL are not necessarily ironclad any longer.

Vincent Trocheck might be the example of this new mantra.

While still a long shot, the talented 20-year-old has shown flashes of why he was the leading scorer in the OHL last season.

Camp invitee, Brad Boyes, had a strong showing in the team scrimmage today, so he might make Trocheck's chances diminish a little, but only for this season.
