Captaincy
It's time to choose a captain. With less than three weeks to go, the Sabres have yet to determine who will be their captain this season. Ron Rolston said that he would rotate the "C" throughout the preseason and training camp, but still has yet to decide who will get it permanently.

My choice is Steve Ott. Out of the entire team, he is the most fit for the role, so I'd like to see him get it.

As long as the Sabres stick with a captain, I'll be fine with it. I don't want multiple or rotating captains like they have had in the past.

Ryan Miller

HB user JetpackJesus sent along an article on ESPN that discussed Miller and Vanek. Until then, I hadn't seen it, but found some interesting quotes in there and wanted to pass them along.

Miller:
"If you play long enough, you're going to have this type of discussion surround you at some point,. I have to be professional enough just to do the job. I'm able to do a job in a city I'm familiar with, a city I'm very much at home. I like to be in Buffalo. I like the people."

Miller also commented on selling his house:

"It does look like, `OK, I'm out of here," Miller said. "People are going to believe it or they're not going to believe it. I thought it was a smart business decision to have it on the market in the last year of my deal so I didn't at least get low-balled. I had to laugh at myself and say, `this is not going to be looking good to the people of Buffalo.' I'm not racing out of town. It was just honestly a business decision."

NHL '14
For those who don't like when I write about video games, skip this part. I'm off to a 9-2-1 online record this season and I have been enjoying NHL '14 so far. The hitting is better than ever and you can completely destroy people with big checks.

Took a screenshot of the first game I played, a solid shutout victory:

Then there was this one a few games later. A late back and forth battle.

As always, thank you for reading!
