Hello all, I can feel the zambonis revving up their engines.

Just a little side note on the Devils (other than Cordell has touched on lately).
Johan "Moose" Hedberg has been examining his options after Uncle Lou Lamoriello changed his short term plans at the draft by trading (or stealing) Schneider from the Canucks and thus a buyout was extended.

We all know that Moose is beloved everywhere he goes and one of the best teammates anyone could ask for. Arguably the best backup goalie the NHL has seen in an overall package, so this could not have happened to a nicer fellow.

As he has mentioned in recent past, he has not hid the fact he still thinks he has something in the tank and would love to stick with an NHL team this coming season. We also know a future in the Devils organization is a great possibility.

So, an invite from cross-river rivals New York Rangers has been extended. And accepted.
Moose loves the area and is much a family man wanting not to disrupt them by major relocation.
New York could be a nice fit as it is a few miles away, their current backup Biron is tending to personal issues which will not make him available at the start of the season. Not to mention the Rangers have been said to want a culture change in the locker room, no better player to add if you ask me.

We all wish Moose the best of luck moving forward, except against the Devils. it would be odd seeing him in a Rangers jersey for sure.

Other thoughts...
It is hard to believe that Brunner is still out there and no news on a camp invite. A player I really hoped for Uncle Lou to have gone after.

At this stage looks like our team is set to start the season with a few spots up for grabs in training camp.
Despite losing one of the best players in the league, I believe the Devils have done well and are a much deeper team today.
I am really looking forward to seeing this team on the ice!

So I have decided on my next jersey... the next one... #35 Schneider. Cant wait to put the jersey on when he faces his former team, the Canucks!

Truly yours,
The Devils Advocate
