It's finally been released. While the Sabres have yet to make an official statement regarding the third jersey, fans got to see the entire thing with help from Steve Ott on Twitter.
Here it is:
I knew it was going to be yellow...but wow, I did not expect two different shades of it. Not exactly sure what's going on with the gray on the arms either.
I actually like the back of the jersey, but the front mix up of yellow, yellow #2 and gray do not go well together. There's already a ton of negative feedback all over the Internet, and I understand why.
Choosing to sport a yellow jersey is a gutsy decision, but the appearance can be dangerous, and that's what happened. Nashville was at least able to pull it off, but Buffalo is going to be hearing it for awhile now.
At this point, I'm not sure what is worse. These third jerseys, or the slug. Maybe it will look better on ice? Maybe this whole thing is a joke? I have to say I'm disappointed with the jersey overall. You have to wonder what some people are thinking when they come up with these things.
I guess the next question is how long will Buffalo have this one for? The Sabres have seemingly been going through jerseys like crazy since the lockout. Is this one that will stay? Or will the the team come up with something else in the next few years?
