My Offers

To PHX- Jordan Schroeder
For
To VAN- David Rundblad

Thoughts- This is a deal that make a bit of sense for both teams. Schroeder isn't an ideal fit on the third-line in Vancouver and Rundblad doesn't seem to have a place in the desert – and rumours are still out there that he is eyeing the KHL. Both players were selected in the '09 draft and I think you can pretty much guarantee that neither team is completely satisfied with their deployment to date. But, I believe both players still have some upside.

Schroeder gives the Yotes more speed and skill in their top-6 next year. Rundblad gives the Canucks another D-man that is right-handed and highly skilled. If Corrado struggles or Tavev doesn't want to re-sign, Rundblad slots in as a very good option.

To VAN- Max Pacioretty
For
To MTL- Alex Edler

Thoughts- Like won't happen because the Canadiens need Pacioretty's size, but they do look to have a huge hole on the blueline after next season, as they have four UFAs. Edler and Subban should equal an excellent PP for Montreal. Pacioretty gives Vancouver that top-6 size that they have been searching for.

Fan Offers

Flyershockey

To STL- Couturier, Read, Coburn and a 1st
For
To PHI- Pietrangelo and Paajarvi

My Thoughts- Honestly, I the Blues are interested in dealing Pietrangelo. Although, a guy like Couturier would get them open to listening. I also think Couturier would excel in the Blues system and at a cap hit of only 1.75 million after next year – and only roughly 5 million over the next three. Coburn slots in as a top-4 D and Read gives the Blues some offensive depth. The Flyers land their franchise D that they have been looking for.

Frank0721

To CHI- Plekanec, Diaz and a 1st
For
To- MTL- Seabrook

Frank0721's Thoughts- Bold trade for both, but it's something that can fills hole on both team. Hawks needs a 2nd line centre to play with sharp and hossa, Plekanec will do very good with them. He is also a PK expert as very talented offensively to keep up with both. Diaz will help on PP and replace a little the lost of Seabrook on Defence. They also fill 2 needs without taking too much cap hit. MTL get their so much needed stud in D. They lose their #1 centre, but they still have a few options (even if Galchenyuk isn't quite ready yet to take this role)

My Thoughts- In terms of value, it's close. But I really can't see a fit in Chicago for a small forward given the West's more physical, grinding style. And even if they had an interest in Plekanec, that price Isn't going to be Seabrook.

Icegirl94

To NYR- Thomas Vanek (sabres take back salary) and Cody Hodgson
For
To BUF- Derek Stepan and Chris Kreider

Icegirl94's Thoughts- Rangers add a goal scoring machine (I suspect he'd sign an extension as well) and a young centre who can provide depth scoring now and be a top six forward for the future.

Sabres get a significant upgrade at the centre ice position by replacing Hodgson with Stepan. They also replace their current 30 goal scorer with a future 30 goal scorer (or has the potential to be one).

side note: Considering how slow they looked this year (from what I saw at least) the added speed in this trade should be a big plus for Sabres fans.

The deal would probably need to include draft picks depending on how highly you think of one or more of these players. From an outside perspective though, I think it's a decent deal when you consider the current state of both franchises.

My Thoughts- This is a no because there is no way in hell that AV would allow it to happen!

Nucker101

To VAN- Evgeni Nabakov, John Tavares, Brock Nelson, Josh Bailey, Ryan Strome and Kyle Okposo
For
To NYI- Henrik Sedin, Daniel Sedin, Roberto Luongo, Jordan Schroeder and cash/capspace

Nucker101's Thoughts- Sedins are too soft in the playoffs and declining players, and I as a fan demand a reset!

My Thoughts- Okay, step back from the ledge Nucker and put the bottle down. The Islanders aren't trading JT and the Canucks aren't moving the twins. Thanks for the hits, now take a deep breath and relax.

Mathwil3

To WPG- Stafford and Adam
For
To BUF- Wheeler

My Thoughts-
This one is interesting, but my curiosity is in wondering what Wheeler will be signed for. If he wants more than 5, take the deal and run Jets fans because there is no way in hell a half-assing player like Wheeler is worth that kind of dough.

VANTEL

To TOR- Bieksa and Tanev
For
To PHI- Phaneuf
For
To VAN- Hartnell and Franson

My Thoughts- leave it to VANTEL to bring up a threesome. I like it, get Gillis on the phone.

Well that's a wrap.

Ian
