The Calgary Flames have extended another one of their own.

Today the Flames announced that they've signed defenseman Chris Breen to a one-year, two-way contract extension.

Breen, 24, spent last season in Abbotsford with the Flames' AHL affiliate. The 6'7 defenseman recorded seven points and 55 penalty minutes in 60 games.

Breen's extension will see him earn $577,500 if he's in the NHL and $80,000 if he plays in Abbotsford, which is the more likely scenario.

Feaster expected to play it safe with T.J. Brodie's next contract.

A look at how the Flames 3 1st round picks performed in the CHL last season.

I examine how Jay Feaster and the Flames fared in this year's draft.
