The Leafs selected 19 year old PEI Rockets goaltender Antoine Bibeau in the 6th round of the NHL Draft and took RW Andreas Johnson from Vastra Frolunda in the SEL with their 7th round pick(202nd overall) .

UPDATE: 9pm

The Leafs select Swiss winger Fabrice Herzog in the 5th round(142nd overall) in the NHL Draft

UPDATE: 8:15pm

Leafs select Niagara Ice Dog's center Carter Verghaeghe in the third round of the NHL Draft:

McKeen's Draft Guide says the Waterdown, Ontario native is a "skilled and creative pivot with decent size and fast hands, but is still working on developing a consistent compete level." At 6'1", 181 lb, Verhaeghe needs to mature and get stronger, but is good on faceoffs and is has good offensive vision.

UPDATE: 6:45pm

The Maple Leafs have replaced the departing Tyler Bozak by obtaining two time Stanley Cup winning center David Bolland from the Chicago Black Hawks for three draft picks.

Toronto traded their second round pick(51st overall) and fourth round pick(117th overall) along with a 2014 fourth round selection in the 2014 draft.

A native of Mimico, ON, the 27 year old Bolland is under contract for one more season at $3.3 Million and was moved by the Black Hawks to clear cap room to re-sign winger Bryan Bickell.

UPDATE: 5:15pm

The Maple Leafs select Rimouski center Frederik Gauthier at #21.

Gauthier is known more for his two-way play and faceoff ability than putting up gaudy offensive numbers. After being convinced to go to Rimouski over Harvard University by Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby, the 6’5” 210 lb center scored 22 goals and 38 assists in 62 games in his first season in the QMJHL.

The Leafs top pick indicated to the throng of Toronto media at the NHL Draft in Newark that
he models his game after Carolina’s Jordan Staal and admits that he needs to work on the offensive side of his game.

Leafs GM Dave Nonis indicated to TSN after the selection that Gauthier will not be rushed and given proper time to develop, which likely means that he will return to Rimouski for the 2013-14 season.

UPDATE: 3:45pm

Numerous reports had the Leafs trading up from 21st overall to 18th, which was Detroit's pick, but it turned out to be a malfunction in the draft board at the Prudential Center.

Stay tuned

UPDATE: 240pm

Per TSN's Darren Dreger: "Hurricanes have two firm offers and a third nibbling on 5th overall. Toronto is out. Carolina may wait until 4th pick to make a deal."

UPDATE: 230pm

Sportsnet's Scott Morrison reporting that the Canes are 50/50 to move the 5th overall pick. Reports indicate that the Leafs are among five or six teams that have made an offer for the pick, as well as the division rival Buffalo Sabres.

Will update

Report from TSN's DarrenDreger that their is a strong chance that the Leafs could move up into the top five of today's NHL Draft and that they have had discussions with the Carolina Hurricanes, who have the #5 pick.

Carolina is known to be shopping the pick for a top defenseman because at #5 the draft is loaded with center prospects like Elias Lindholm, Aleksander Barkov and Sean Monahan. The Canes are set up the middle with Eric and Jordan Staal, so swapping the pick for a defensive prospect makes sense.

Dreger indicates that a trade for the lottery pick might cost the Leafs 2012 first rounder Morgan Rielly and that there are about three or four teams in pursuit of Carolina's top pick.

If a deal is made, it will be announced shortly before the draft.
