New Jersey Devils goaltender, Martin Brodeur, has added to his long and ever-growing list of accolades.

The 41-year-old netminder and future Hall of Famer will grace the cover of the newest edition of EA Sports' NHL game franchise, NHL 14.

Brodeur beat out 2013 Vezina winner Sergei Bobrovsky of the Columbus Blue Jackets for his spot on the cover.

This will mark the first time since a goaltender has been on the cover of an NHL game since 1997. In case you don't recall, Florida Panthers goaltender John Vanbiesbrouck was on the cover then.

Brodeur winning the cover vote also marks the first time a member of the New Jersey Devils has been on the cover of an EA Sports made NHL game since NHL 96. Scott Stevens was on the cover alongside Steve Yzerman then.

I asked Brodeur's son, Jeremy, for his thoughts on Brodeur being named NHL 14's cover athlete: "It's pretty special to have him on the cover. It feels pretty cool because I'll see him (on the cover) every time I play."

My thoughts on Dainius Zubrus' rumored extension with the Devils.

Is Hunter Shinkaruk the pick for the Devils?
