Read my conversation with the Calgary Flames Tod Button HERE and find out about all the work that goes into the NHL Draft.

1- Grow a set

When Gillis took over the Canucks five years ago the man simply didn't give a F?*k about anything. He was a bad ass GM who was going to do what he wanted to do and he really didn't care what anyone had to say about it. Since the criticism he received for dealing Cody Hodgson, Gillis has now become like a neutered dog that looks to be afraid of ruffling anyone feathers at the dog park.

We need to find the guy that used to make moves without giving a crap. Start pulling the frigging trigger Gillis and if people don't like the move, tell them to go F?*k themselves.

2- Do something with a Goalie (or 2)

This move relates to the first part of the plan. Make a freaking decision on a goalie already. I don't care if it's a buyout decision or what the freaking plan is – if there is one –…pull the freaking trigger. And while you're at it, move Eddie lack if the value is there so we aren't in the same boat a year from now.

3- Draft skill and hockey sense

Ever since Gillis took over he has been drafting like and MLB dinosaur. He's looked for the guys that look good in a Guess Jeans ad and not for the guys that actually have a high skill level. He picks guys solely based on the fact that they are big and they can skate. Let's start taking actually hockey players who know how to play the game this year and get away from these 5-8 year projects.

4- Find a defenceman via trade

The defence is the starting point to the offseason overhaul. They all play like a bunch of freaking pussies and while Torts may change that a little, adding a guy to show them that no one is safe is what needs to happen. Go get Kris Letang and if the price is too high for him add a solid nasty guy.

Draft Stuff

I recently did some work around the NHL draft for the Calgary Journal. Check out my story on 2013 Draft prospect Jamal Watson of the Lethbridge Hurricanes, ranked 137th by NHL Central Scouting. Feedback is always welcome, so let me know what you think.

I have another two others:
- One on Hunter Shinkaruk .

- A Q&A with the Flames Tod Button .

Well that's a wrap.
