New Jersey Devils forward David Clarkson, who will arguably be the most sought after UFA in July, will receive a lot of big time offers should he test free agency. One of which may come very soon.

Clarkson is expecting a large contract offer that will keep him a member of the Devils long-term, according to Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun.

If Clarkson receives a long-term, big money offer from New Jersey, it's likely he'll stay with the Devils. However, should Clarkson test the waters to see what's out there in free agency, and it's possible he does, he'll generate interest from as many as 20 NHL teams, according to Simmons.

Teams will be lining up for Clarkson's services for a variety of reasons and it should come as a surprise to none that he's going to land a big contract, whether it be in New Jersey or elsewhere.

If you were an NHL GM, what would you be willing to pay Clarkson? It sounds to me like any contract will have to be at least six or seven years and $5 million or more per season.
