SUNDAY ROUNDUP: FLYERS AT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Saturday's Results

* Oliver Lauridsen suffered a left hip flexor strain (originally reported as a groin pull on televison) in Denmark's 4-1 loss to undefeated Switzerland. The injury happened in the second period. Lauridsen skated just one minute in the middle period, and did not return to the game. Lauridsen played 5:11 in the first period. He was on the ice for Luca Cunti's power play goal that got the Swiss on the board first in the match. Lauridsen is taking therapy and hopes to be able to play in Monday's game against Belarus.

* Erik Gustafsson logged a monstrous 27:16 of ice time in Sweden's 2-0 shutout win over Slovenia. He was even in plus-minus and recorded three shots on goal.

* Team USA gritted through a 4-2 win over France. Stephen Gionta (deflection of a shot by former Flyers defenseman Matt Carle), Bobby Butler (slam dunk on a triangular passing sequence), Paul Stastny (loose puck in front) and David Moss scored goals for Team USA against former NHL goalie Cristobal Huet. Phantoms goaltender Cal Heeter remained a healthy scratch. Tampa Bay netminder Ben Bishop started in goal.

* For the third time in five games, Phantoms forward Marcel Noebels was a healthy scratch for Team Germany. Yesterday, the German squad blanked Latvia, 2-0.

Sunday's games (Times in EDT)

9:15 A.M.: Team USA takes on Germany. No word as of yet on whether Noebels will return to the Germans' fourth line. Heeter will be scratched, with John Gibson likely to get the start in goal for the Americans. The game will be televised nationally on NBC Sports Network.

10:15 A.M.: In a game of significant interest to Flyers fans, the contingent of four Flyers players on Team Canada (Claude Giroux, Wayne Simmonds, Matt Read and Luke Schenn) will take on the Czech Republic, featuring Jakub Voracek on its top line. The game will be televised throughout Canada on TSN and an online stream will be available here.

1:15 P.M.: Coming off back-to-back regulation losses to France and Finland, Team Russia may have Ilya Bryzgalov back in net today for the first time since the game against Team USA. Today's opponent is Slovakia.
