Luongo will get the start |

The word in Vancouver is that Roberto Luongo will get the start in game one of the Western Conference quarter finals against the San Jose Sharks.
Cory Schneider has been the number one goalie for the Canucks starting thirty games this year. Schneider missed the last two games of the season with a lower body injury.
Luongo was shelled for seven goals in the final game of the season against Edmonton and some controversy was made as to why he wasn’t pulled in a game that meant nothing as far standings go. This is most likely the result of the pessimistic press in Vancouver trying making something out of nothing, but depending on how “Bobby Luo” as he is known in Vancouver plays Wednesday night will reveal more.
Luongo may have a bad taste in his mouth for not getting relieved against the Oilers to go along with not being moved before the season began or the trade deadline which was the team’s intent.
For San Jose Scott Gomez and Jason Demers won’t dress. Demers was seen in a protective boot and Gomez’s injury is undisclosed. The team will miss Gomez more than Demers as he is part of the second power play unit and has been the glue for the fourth line’s resurgence down the stretch.
