With many questions surrounding the Sabres this offseason, one of them is whether or not Ron Rolston will be the team's head coach next season. If not, who will?
Darcy Regier plans to speak with Rolston today, determining the fate of the Sabres interim head coach. The Sabres went 15-11-5 under Rolston, a improvement after starting the season 6-10-1 under Lindy Ruff.
Rolston wants to coach in the NHL, as he stated earlier this season:
“Certainly, it’s my dream to be an NHL coach. I had an opportunity this year, and I want to continue that.”
As we await word of the decision, let me ask you what you'd prefer:
For me, I don't want to see Rolston become the full time coach next season. I appreciate what he did for the Sabres this season and he did have them improve a bit, but the Sabres have been better later in the season anyway.
I don't know exactly who I want for head coach next season, but Rolston is not the answer in my mind.
After the Rangers 8-4 win over Buffalo, Rolston wasn't too pleased in the post game conference, and I don't blame him.
Rolston has been giving quick answers during most of his press conferences. I just dont get the sense that he will be the coach come next season.
