Sometimes you wish you could turn back the hands of time and I for one am wishing this very thing as I am writing this. The reason why is because tonight on XM I was asked about a center for Atlanta.. my thoughts were jumbled as the tylenol pm began to kick in (I start work tomorrow at 5 am and I am a night owl) and I had not yet received the email that gave me the news. Brett Sterling was named the AHL All Star Game MVP tonight in Toronto. That is not the first honor to be placed under Sterling's name. November and December of 2006 Brett was named the AHL Rookie of the Month and yes you read that correctly he was named twice in a row. So back to my opening line, I would love to turn back the hands of time so I could give Brett the recognition he truly deserves and let everyone know I think he should be Atlanta's newest center. We could sit around and wait to see if a good vet comes around or we could use the resources we have and bring Brett down for a little trial. Both of Brett's linemates Darren Haydar and Jason Krog have gotten their chance to prove themselves in Atlanta so why not Brett?? After 2 rookie of the month nods and now All Star game MVP one would think he would already be on the next flight to Atlanta. So is our GM just not paying attention or does he have a few tricks up his sleeves??
I'm not too sure and I'm alittle worried about when we will find out but if I could make the call then I would be dialing Chicago because I think Brett Sterling is Atlanta's missing link. I think he is the center we need to try out.. What's the worst that could happen? We have no center? Wouldn't be the first time...

More to come I'm sure.
