Fifteen minutes is the answer.

The question, how long did Vancouver actually play last night in their 3-1 loss?

Ryan Kesler said it best, "We completely embarrassed ourselves the first two periods. It's completely unacceptable. We're professionals and we need to prepare to play. We finally figured it out in the third that we need to work hard and play the right way to be successful."

The Ducks attack was lead by the unlikely duo of Beleskey and Staubitz – sounds more like a law firm then a scoring duo if you ask me. Beleskey would get things kicked off for the Ducks by deflecting home his eighth of the year. This one was all on Jason Garrison. Are staring contests the new way to shutdown players? Because, that's about all Garrison was doing to Beleskey on the play.

A minute-and-a-half later, Luongo would get caught checking out the girl in section 105 and a Brad Staubitz shot would find the back of the net. We'll chalk this one up to one part rust, one part no one else is playing so why should I. I mean seriously, there is no other reason for how Brad Staubitz scores on you. It's Brad "Freaking" Staubitz! The shots were an embarrassing 24-9 after two periods for the "Quack Attack".

Then the third period started and Vancouver got a little ray of sunshine. The boys rallied as best they could, but could only get one Jason Garrison blast by Jonas Hiller. All in all, the Canucks own website summed it up best, "The effort reflected the results".

So is an effort like this cause for concern? Ehhh… not really. If Vancouver was a young team I would say yes because a loss like this may cause doubt to creep in. But the core of this Vancouver team has pretty much seen it all. They have shown so far this year that when they want to flip the switch they can.

I would have preferred to see them flip it last night and try to win one for a player that is one of the greatest players in franchise history, but you can't win them all. The one thing about this team this year is they are full of surprises. I'm not sure whether that is a good thing or not, but they are what they are and we'll have a whole season of second guessing Gillis if they don't win.

But for now, let's all get behind them and cheer them to the Cup!

Corrado

And what blog would be complete without the Corrado Report. Frankie got his 20+ minutes again last night and faired pretty well against a one-armed Ducks team. He had a couple of mistakes but what I really like about Frankie is he never looks rattled. He gets beat, he just plugs it into the back of his head and goes out and shuts them down the next time. He had a team high four blocked shots and was one of the only guys on the team to play the full 60.

I think we'll be seeing him in the playoffs. The two games he's played have me wishing he was in Vancouver all year. The kid is a good one.

Well that's a wrap.

Ian
