For the first 40 minutes Vancouver played reasonable well against a desperate hockey team. But, once the third started it looked as though the Canucks may have boarded the flight home a little early.

Derek Roy would open the scoring for Vancouver about six minutes into the second period. When Alex Goligoski did his best Cam Barker impersonation – which he nailed – Roy grabbed the puck and went forehand, backhand and in.

When Vancouver picked Roy up at the deadline this was exactly what they were hoping to get. I remember those real good Sabres teams that Roy was a part of. I remember Roy as being one of those types of guys that you can hold in check for most of the game, but if he gets that chance, he's going to put it away. He did it last night and I'm confident he will continue to do it going forward – 1-0 Vancouver.

The party ended pretty quickly after that goal as Dallas would tie things up on the power-play and then bull-rush Vancouver with four more goals in the third that made the Canucks look like pylons. Simply put, no one back-checked that entire third period and the defence was lucky if a forward made it past their own blueline. The defence did a lot more standing around and you could tell this game didn't matter to them either.

This was just another preseason game for Vancouver.

At the end of the day, the Canucks are Pros. They know how to flip that switch and I am fairly confident that this team will care a little more in May than they do right now. Four games to go, a four point cushion on the Wild – nothing to worry about.

Current Playoff Opponent- St. Louis Blues

That's a wrap
