I will be at the game tonight in Philly, let me know if you will be there as well.

In their fifth, and final, meeting of the season the rivals Devils and Flyers meet in what is amust win for both teams. Devils lead the season series 3-1.

The Flyers come off a win against the Rangers while the Devils coming off a slump for the ages.

All eyes has been on Kovalchuk, who has been skating and was thought of travelling to Philly with the team. I believe that a 75% Kovy is better than no Kovy. Emotionally he can give the Devils a needed boost for a final season playoff push. Coach DeBoer nixed the possibility; "He's not close enough to be a consideration, so we're going to leave him back,..."

That being said the Devils, who have been snake bitten, need to get out of their funk! Elias and Clarkson, to name a few, need to step up...despite playing well as a team goals need to be burried.

While the Flyers D are injury hampered (Coburn, Meszaros, Grossmann, Gervais, Huskins), the Devils D are no better in that department with Volchenkov suspended (maybe not a bad thing considering his play of late) and Salvador unlikely to return from a wrist injury. Alex Urbom has been recalled but unknown if he will dress.
I do think the Devils D depth is superior to the Flyers’ so a little tilt of the ice towards the Devils tonight.

No sense in thinking too far ahead. Philly is the task at hand.

Both teams are hanging for dear life. Both teams are playing a rival. Both teams want bragging rights. This is playoff hockey!

On another note,
Devils vs. Rangers on Sunday, January 26 2014 at Yankee Stadium! It has been some time coming as talks about such a meeting surfaced two years ago. Devils being the home team one week before Super Bowl.
Pending further planning info we expect other games leading up such as Alumni games, College and/or High School games (speaking with a prominant NJ High School Hockey Coach there has been preliminary thought on a possible High School game in the works).
Should be fun!

Tonight should be a good one and Devils fans will know tomorrow if the Devils have playoff hopes.

Let's go Devils!!!

Truly yours,
