The Sharks will try to make it seven wins in a row for the second time this season as they host a depleted Calgary Flames team at the Shark Tank.

The Sharks began this shortened season with a seven game win streak and caught a number of teams off their mark. San Jose had a number of players who came into the season game ready after playing overseas and in many cases coasted to victories.

This time around the Sharks have had to earn every victory and ever since the Douglas Murray trade this group has played like a team committed to a single purpose, winning.

The team has had some breaks, but they have earned their breaks after the puck didn’t even look their way for what seemed like an eternity in February when they went 2-6-4.

The Flames on the other hand have begun a rebuild which is long overdue. They traded away the team’s heart and soul Jarome Iginla. Jay Boumeester was moved next and although former Sharks goalie Mikka Kiprusof wasn’t traded he hasn’t been the same since his name came up in trade rumors.

The Sharks and Flames have split games so far this season both by the score of 4-1 and both games were played in Calgary. Friday night’s battle will be the last time these teams meet this year.

Friday will be the first game that newcomer Raffi Torres will be available to Head Coach Todd McLellan. Scott Hannan is currently sidelined with an upper body injury and will be reassessed early next week.
