They did it again.

The Pittsburgh game was not a one and done affair. This 4-2 win was just the extension of the three period shellacking that the Sabres applied to the Pens on Tuesday night.

The Amerks want to prove to the Sabres brass that they belong in the NHL.

Adam (1 goal). Pysyk (1 assist). Pardy (2 assists). Porter (1 assist). Flynn (1 goal).

Youngsters Foligno, Weber, and Hodgson were equally as impressive.

Steve Ott was his usual filthy self. Great goal by @OtterN9NE. Brian Flynn and Jochen Hecht scored 12 seconds part to give Buffalo breathing room om the third period.

Ryan Miller made 35 saves.

With his first of the second period, Miller set the record for saves as a member of the Sabres with 13,309. The Dominator is now #2 in Sabres history.

The AmeriSabres imposed 60 minutes of Hell on Chris Neil and his filthy Politicians.

John Scott, Pat Kaleta, Steve Ott and the Sabres played heavy hockey all night long.

Updated 8:25pm:

It didn't take Johan Larsson long to make a lasting impression on the Amerks fans and the Sabres brass. Trailing 2-0, Larsson scored his first goal as an Amerk at 14:14.

Larsson compiled 37 points (15 G, 22A) in 62 games with the Minnesota Wild AHL affiliate, Houston Aeros.

Luke Adam scored his first game in blue and gold since December 17, 2011. It was a twenty two game drought between NHL goals for Adam. Luke top-shelfed a Pardy pass to make the score 1-0 Buffalo. A beauty bomb. More please.

Adam's yo-yo existence in the Sabres organization is presently looking up.

Adam started on Buffalo's top line with Vanek and Pominville in 2011-12. he scored 10 goals and added 10 assists, and his future was looking very bright.

The one time top prospect in the Buffalo system was on his way to bigger things, then in January 2012 he was sent to Rochester. The kid lost his confidence when Rolston moved him from his natural center position to the wing. Adam's inconsistency and his mistakes inside shifts drove Lindy Ruff crazy. Seems that Adam has had the same effect on Rolston.

I hope for Luke's sake that this goal kick starts his confidence. He's too good to be playing in the minors. The Sabres can use his size, skill, and smarts in the final 11 games of the season.

Adam is a big body who can hold onto pucks and create offense, zone time from nothing at all.

Its high time he finds his consistency.

Jason Pominville made his Wild debut on Thursday night in LA. He was -1.

Tonight, the focus shifts to the kids that Buffalo traded their captain for.

Johann Larsson will make his debut in Rochester. He will center for Zemgus Girgensons and Jacob Lagace for the Amerks. Matt Hackett will back-up David Leggio.

The Sabres also received a first rounder and a second rounder from Minnesota in exchange for Pominville.

Needless to say, Larsson, who's nickname is "The Bull", and Hackett, were eager to skate with their new teammates this morning.

Larsson has had quite an exhausting past two and a half days since he was traded from the Minnesota Wild to the Sabres. Upon learning of his trade to Buffalo, he flew from San Jose, where he was preparing to play in his second NHL game, to his home in Houston, where he had been a fixture with the Wild's AHL affiliate, the Aeros. Larsson grabbed his personal effects, packed his suits, tooth brush and shaving kit and then flew from Houston to Rochester.

Larsson had just been called up to the Wild from the Aeros and was preparing to make a name for himself with the NHL club. The trade took him totally by surprise.

Larsson gets his nickname from his aggressive, two-way style. He's an excellent skater, with a low center of gravity, and he is hard to move off the puck. He was sensational at the 2012 WJCs in Calgary-Edmonton. He was Sweden's team captain. Very underrated player.

Matt Hackett , the London native, played his junior hockey with the OHL Windsor Spitfires and Plymouth Whalers. He was Houston's starter this season, however, he'll play the back-up role to David Leggio tonight when Lake Erie comes calling.

Hackett is a starter, and he'll bide his time behind Leggio for now.

This kid has great east-west movement, and has an excellent glove hand.

Thanks, Kevin Oklibzija
