9:39 pm: Shoot out. How did Holtby stop Mr. Shootout?

Ovechkin scores.

Boyes can't make it as Holtby gives him a toe save.

Jt skates in too close and Holtby makes the save on Johhny as well.

One point to the Isles, two to the Caps.

The glass is half full.

9:25 pm: One point in the books and the teams go to OT.

John Tavares has his stick broken on the power play, which was bad, but then he was getting whacked on the legs while he was trying to get off the ice by the Caps players. To me, that was just rude.

Unless McDonald or Martin. Unleash them. Someone needs to pay.

9:21 pm: Matt Moulson robbed by Holtby's skate. Bummer.

Mike Green tosses the puck up into the crowd and after a little debate get the power play with only 3 minutes left of the third.

9:16 PM: With less than five minutes left of the third and the score still 1 - 0 in favor of the Capitals, the Isles began to get creative.

Mark Streit did some beautiful work from his own zone, but the puck was ultimately given to Reasoner who got the shot off, but without much behind it.

But with a Caps turn over athe blue line, Josh Bailey took the puck and held on long enough behind the net to pass to Nielsen, who passed it to his left to Okposo who found the twine in his usual style.

Okay, I say usual, even though he hasn't scored in quite awhile. It was a great goal for the Isles.

8:32 pm: There is only one goal so far after 40 minutes and sadly it doesn't belont to the Isles.

The Capitals are targeting John Tavares -- hard. JT is no longer that skinny kid he was when he first came into the league. He can take it -- and he can dish it out. Although I really don't like seeing him do that. Neither does Jack or the rest of the team.

Hamonic and Moulson will have none of it either.

Holtby is looking solid tonight and has robbed the Isles a few times so far.

Isles have to come out strong in the third period if they want to turn this around. They can. Just just have to find it in themselves. They outshot the Caps 14 - 7 in the second period. Jack told them, keep getting pucks to the net. Something will go in.

11 am: The New York Islanders visit the Washington Capitals tonight and it seems Anders Lee will be watching the game from the press box.

According to Newsday's Art Staple, it looks like Jesse Joensuu may make his debut tonight, or it could be Reasoner in for Anders. Either way, it seems he won't have a chance for a second goal just yet.

Radek Martinek will be in for Carkner and Nabokov will return to the net.

In this morning's post skate media scrum, Jack Capuano is quoted as saying:

"At this point in the season, it's about going to battle for each other and doing everything you can for your team to win a hockey game."

Regarding the lack of movement yesterday at the trade deadline, Jack also said they like hte chemistry they already have. "Everyone knows their role."

So you can look at Jesse Joensuu as getting a new player since he hasn't played all season.

So, let's get the party started.
