Ducks Add Depth at Center with Matthew Lombardi |

The Anaheim Ducks made a minor move at the NHL trade deadline today by acquiring center Matthew Lombardi from the Phoenix Coyotes for prospect Brandon McMillan.
This is the second time this season Lombardi has been moved. The 31-year-old was acquired by Phoenix earlier this season in a trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs before finally settling in Southern California.
In 21 games this season, Lombardi has four goals and eight points and a mediocre 44% success rate in the face circle. ( I thought the Ducks needed somebody who could win draws?)
Lombardi had a career high 53 points in 2009-10 during his first stint with Phoenix, but has struggled to put up points in the last three seasons. The Ducks are Lombardi's fifth team in his 10 year career. Lomabrdi will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.
Like I said in my blog yesterday, the market was growing thin, but I do think Lombardi will do fine in Anaheim. A little change of scenery and playing for a winning team can tend to do that for guys.
What do you think of the deal? Did Murray make this deal just to make a deal or will Lombardi have a positive impact in the Ducks?
