Clowe Goes To The Rangers; The Risk and Rewards of Jaromir Jagr |
|
|
|
As first reported by ESPN's Pierre LeBrun, the Rangers have won the Ryane Clowe bidding war. The 30 year old pending unrestricted free agent goes to New York for a 2nd, 3rd and conditional 2nd (on re-signing or winning two playoff series).
Looks like it is going to be a very busy night.....
More to come
Roy has been dealt to Vancouver, and now we are officially in the Jagr sweeps. Jagr's refusal to sign next year and the Stars recent terrible home stand has put #68 officially on the trade floor...
And the Bruins grabbed him very quickly...
Jagr deserves a ton of credit for what he has done in completely re-inventing himself. He has become a mentor, a leader, and he truly is the epitome of a guy who makes those around him better....
But he isn't for everyone....
Rewards...
* In Jagr you get a leader who exudes work ethic. Other young players can't help but take notice.
* In Jagr you get a power play specialist who will put up numbers.
* He has a great attitude and players around him love him.
Risk
*He is an older player...He was very good last season in Philly for the first 50 games and then went downhill very quickly from there. In this shortened season he has been outstanding...but will that wall come in the playoffs?
*If you are going to give him lots of ice time he will be happy and involved...if not he will be very much the opposite.
