Blacker Called Up, No Interest In Kiprusoff? Leafs Vs Bruins

Sportsnet's Mark Spector tweeted this morning: "For those wondering re: Kiprusoff to Toronto, Am told Leafs will hold on to picks and prospects. Those days may be gone in Toronto."

Not that there was a lot of steam behind any Kipper to Toronto rumors, but if the Flames had traded Iginla to LA and Jonathan Bernier was part of the package coming back, Calgary could be open to shipping off the veteran netminder and clear his nearly $6 Million cap hit for 2013-14 to a team in need of a veteran netminder.

It appears that Leafs GM Dave Nonis is taking the similar stance with Kiprusoff that he did earlier in the season with Vancouver's Roberto Luongo. Toronto would like to bring in a veteran goalie to bolster the goaltending, but is not prepared to give up significant assets to do it.

With John-Michael Liles unavailable for tonight's game in Boston, the Leafs have recalled defenseman Jesse Blacker from the Toronto Marlies.

The 21 year old was Toronto's second round pick in 2009 and has played 53 games for the Leafs AHL affiliate, with three goals and seven assists.

Blacker is not expected to suit up for the Leafs versus the Bruins, as Mike Kostka will step in for Liles at the TD Garden.
