Hearing that tonight's Stars-Flames games in Dallas will be "scout central", with an exceptionally widespread plethora of Eastern and Western Conference pro scouts in attendance at a game featuring two clubs on the brink of going into seller mode.

Calgary's trade targets, of course, are led by Jarome Iginla and Jay Bouwmeester. The Stars, who have been struggling of late and have fallen back to the .500 mark on the season, do not want a repeat of recent past seasons where they avoided moves in order to take their best shot at making the playoffs -- only to fall just short at the end and then lose players to free agency. Jaromir Jagr, Brenden Morrow, Derek Roy, Stephane Robidas, Trevor Daley and Eric Nystrom are all drawing various degrees of interest.
