After breaking the Blackhawks' season opening points streak, the youthful Avs went on to lose 3 of their next 4.

The Hawks appear to be back on a role, even without top winger Patrick Sharp, destroying Dallas 8-1 Saturday night in Texas.

Still, the Hawks always seem to have trouble with Colorado at the Pepsi Center and will neeed their A game tonight.

I'm told the Leafs had two scouts trailing the Ice Hogs this weekend at games in both Rockford and Chicago. This is a follow-on to rumors of Pierre Gauthier and Ryan Stewart scouting the Leafs a few weeks ago.
