Question: Would you give up a No. 1 pick and a top defensive prospect in exchange for Calgary's Jarome Iginla?

Fifty-five percent of voters do not believe Jarome Iginla is worth the cost to the Penguins and that the team is doing just fine without him. Cap1681 summarized the opinion of many voters nicely.

“The problem is that we don't need to bring in Iginla. We don't need a top 6 forward. This team has scored 100 goals in 27 games, 12 more than any other team. Where this team is lacking is on the defensive side. I would love seeing Iginla in a Pens sweater, but it's not needed.

Forty-four percent of respondents want Iginla, including ChrisMS.

"I would love to see Iginla here for our late 1st (the later the better!) and a d-prospect. We are going to hopefully have to move one or two at some point. Our d-prospect list ... I say go for it. Try to woo iginla to finishing his career here for a decent price."

There you have it. We’ll see what happens in the coming weeks before the trade deadline.

-- Sidney Crosby’s average short-handed time is down to 44 seconds – discuss.

-- Evgeni Malkin’s average PK time, before his latest injury, was two seconds.

-- Malkin averages nine seconds more on the power play than Crosby, 5:04 to 4:55, respectively, but true comparisons go out the window when players being compared don’t play in the same games.

-- Kris Letang’s ice time is going up. He’s averaging 26:17 per game, sixth-most in the NHL. Last year, Letang averaged 24:50 in only 51 regular-season games played. Should Penguins fans be concerned?

-- Okay, so you’re open to the possibility of Crosby taking back the mantel of “best player in the NHL” from Claude Giroux. He’s scored three goals and 16 points through his first seven games in March. What’s left to complain about? His numbers in the faceoff circle haven’t been all that great. Here are his game-by-game numbers in March.

15W-16L, 15-14, 10-13, 14-15, 9-8, 11-16, 16-11.

Crosby’s just under .500 for the month. He holds a season mark of 55.4 in the circle, so that’s one area where he can improve upon in the near future.

-- “March of the Penguin” is a feature article dedicated to Sidney Crosby on NHL.com.

"In my mind, I don't think there's any question Sidney Crosby is the best all-round player in the game," Wayne Gretzky recently told ESPN.com.

NHL governors approve realignment; Penguins to play in 8-team division, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.

"Penguins notebook: Team not close to any trades," the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.

The Penguins would like to bolster their depth on defense and at forward, preferably with a top-four defenseman that specializes in own-zone play and a winger that could add scoring to the third or fourth lines. Center Brandon Sutter (13 points) and left winger Matt Cooke (12) are the only bottom-six forwards at double-digits in scoring.

Dupuis scores twice in third as Pens beat Maple Leafs, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

"We have, in this locker room, the feeling that we can come back on any team," said right winger Pascal Dupuis, who scored the Penguins' first two goals. "But it won't happen every night. We can't make it a habit."

"Penguins notebook: Crosby dodges talking about himself as league’s best player," the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

"It's always kind of a debatable thing," Crosby said before the game Thursday night against Toronto at the Air Canada Centre. "Everyone has their own opinion, so I try to not get caught up in who thinks what.

"I try to do my best out there and, if that kind of fits into that category, then that's obviously a great compliment. But that's not something I think is up to me to gauge."

“A home grown winger … finally?” Fantasy hockey expert, Dobber. asks the question in The Hockey News.
