New Jersey Devils President and General Manager, Lou Lamoriello, has announced that the Devils have placed defenseman Henrik Tallinder on injured reserve and recalled left winger Harri Pesonen from Albany.

Tallinder sustained his lower body injury a few games back and has not played since as a result. He was placed on IR retroactive to his last game played, which was March 5th.

Tallinder's injury, thankfully, is not another blood clot like the one he had last season.

With the Devils still having seven healthy defenseman on the roster and struggling to score on a consistent basis, they elected to recall Harri Pesonen rather than another defenseman.

Pesonen has had a decent season in Albany during his first pro season in North America. Pesonen has 11 goals and 15 assists for 26 points in 54 games. He is plus-5 on the year.

There has been no word on if he will play Wednesday against the Philadelphia Flyers, but I assume there is a strong possibility he will.

Martin Brodeur skated today for the first time since suffering his back injury, according to Tom Gulitti. He's getting better, but still isn't close to returning.
