Lindy Ruff has told Kevin Snow of Sabres.com that Ehrhoff will sit out tonight in Ottawa. Pardy will play.

Jhonas Enroth will start vs. Craig Anderson

Enroth is 0-10-2 in his last 12 starts dating back to 11/26/11.

pdated 11;36am EDT:

In desperate need of secondary and tertiary scoring, here are the Sabres lines at game day skate in Kanata:

26-19-29
83-63-21
9-25-55
32/8-37-42

John Vogl of the Buffalo News has tweeted that Christian Ehrhoff tested his “muscle related issue” by skating a few laps in warm-ups. The bad news is that Ehrhoff left the ice and headed to the Sabres locker room. Not the way you want your total ice time leader to react to a few laps around the rink. This further fuels the speculation that Ehrhoff will sit out tonight and will be replaced by Adam Pardy.

Lindy Ruff will confirm or deny Ehrhoff’s status for tonight after the skate.

Lindy Ruff would rather err on the side of caution with the health of D Christian Ehrhoff.

Ruff told Howard Simon on his weekly radio show that the Sabres recalled Adam Pardy from Rochester as a precaution.

Ehrhoff suffered a muscle related issue in Sunday’s game vs. Florida. Ehrhoff will take the skate in Ottawa and will be evaluated after that.
Better to be safe than sorry.

Ehrhoff skated 23:21 of TOI vs. Montreal, while he skated 26:17, 24:18, and 28:28 versus Montreal, Boston, and Toronto, respectively.

The Sabres have given up 33 goals in 9 games this season. They have only scored 27 goals for. Their goal differential is troubling.

Sabres take the ice in Kanata at 11:30 am EDT.

Sens S'der, Chris Neil, told the Ottawa Citizen that he still views games like tonight's against Buffalo as a classic “four point night". The lockout has placed more onus on winning in your division and winning in the conference.

"They mean a lot and you’ve got to be ready to go,” Neil said. “Buffalo coming in, they’re a team that’s had a couple of bad bounces, bad luck lately so it should be a good game.”

Indeed, both teams are riding two-game skids. Something has to give.

“We have to put the past couple of games behind us and move forward,” Neil said. “It’s a good opportunity to gain some ground.”

Losing Jason Spezza to back surgery has put a crimp in the Ottawa offense. Look for Neil to be hunting pucks in the Sabres crease. His team has only scored twice in the past two games.
