What kind of coach do the Avs need?

After last nights awful loss to the Vancouver Canucks, the sentiment running rampant around the Avs was "fire coach Joe Sacco."

It got me thinking: what kind of coach do the Avs need.

Every coach is as unique as the team he coaches but for the most part, there are three basic types: passive, motivational, strategic. (If I'm missing one, please tell me)

Joe Sacco is definitely in the "passive" category. He's more of a hands off, change the lines and send out the troops. Watching games live, it looks like he wants to delegate tasks so he can focus on the game more. This is great when the team is playing well but falters when the team does.

With as young a team as the Avs have, especially with Ryan O'Reilly and Gabriel Landeskog out, the teams two biggest leaders, the Avs need a more hands-on coach.

Motivation is what the Avs lack. When they get down a goal, their fire goes out faster than a smothered candle. They need a coach who will pat them on the back and kick them in a tail, to get them back in the fight. Joe Sacco cannot do that, it just is not his style.

The Avs need someone who can do for them what Ken Hitchcock did for the Blues. A coach who can come in and start getting seed from the crops the Avs' scouts have grown.

Currently, things are heading in the "Seth Jones/Nathan MacKinnon Sweepstakes" direction (good thing the Avs didn't send the 2013 first for Varlamov.) It is still early but the Avs have to pick themselves off the mat first.

Adrian Dater mentioned in his blog that the Avs are starting to look like the 2010-2011 team that has no confidence, whose confidence broke with the wind and who lacked leadership.

Something has to be done and done soon otherwise Seth Jones will be sizing up his new Avs uniform.

What kind of coach- type, not names- should the Avs be looking for?
