10:05 pm: Spoiler alert on Nabby's shut-out. Mark Streit fails to clear a puck in the crease after Nabokov makes more than one save and Dupois slips one in.

An impressive win for the NY Islanders. One I didn't think they had in them!

9:56 pm: So it's seems the key to this game is the speed at which the Islanders are buzzing around the Pens. "Quick sticks" they are calling it. They're also calling the Penguins flat, but whatever it is -- We'll take it.

Nabokov has been on his game all night making the right decisions and the defense has been in the Pens shooting lanes the entire game.

Maybe tonight Jack will actually say they played well and intelligently. Maybe.

9:37 pm: The Islanders allowed the Pens only three shots on a five minute power play. They should be more than proud of themselves for that.

9:32 pm: The third period starts off with the Isles still on the penalty kill and a new goalie in the Pens net as Fluery takes a seat for giving up four goals. Vokoun faces the Isles for the final 20.

Can the Isles play for the last 20 minutes? No letting up.

9:08 pm: Matt Moulson with the fourth goal of the game and his fourth of the season.

9:05 pm: A perfect power play goal by John Tavares from Moulson in front of Fluery's net. Textbook -- I would imagine.

8:45 pm: Michael "Break-away" Grabner makes it 2 - 0 Isles in the second. Can they keep this play up for the balance of the game? Please!

8:12 pm: Congratulations Zeeker!! Your first NHL goal and it comes against the Penguins! What could be better than that? And he did it in only 2:58 of ice time in the first. Really NICE!

The Pens have had two power play chances and the Isles PK has kept them off the score board. Good work. Keep it up for the full game now.

5 pm: Travis Hamonic says he’s fit to play. We’ll see. I’d still prefer to see him sit out a day than take the chance of injuring himself further.

The Isles have a limited number of tickets available for Sunday’s 3 pm game against the NJ Devils for only $25 a seat.

Jesse D. Eisenberg has deemed the official Islander pre-game ritual will now be the Shamrock Shake. (Until MacDonalds takes it off the menu again.)

Speaking of Jesses, Jesse Joensuu will miss 5 – 7 weeks after having surgery for a sports hernia. That’s most of this season.

Tonight’s game will be on NBC Sports Network. I believe it’s the only time the Isles will be on NBC this season.
