Hartnell Injured; Schenn Suspended

From bad to worse ... and with the New York Rangers coming to town, too.

As I suspected when coach Peter Laviolette and GM Paul Holmgren avoided questions today, Scott Hartnell is out indefinitely with a left foot injury.

I am guessing it's fractured, the result of being hit by a shot from Kimmo Timonen in the third period of Tuesday's 3-0 loss at New Jersey.

Add to that, Brayden Schenn drew a suspension for leaving feet on a high hit to Anton Volchenkov, as well. I feel it was worthy of a fine. That the officials made no call on the ice is an embarrassment to the league that they would suspend Schenn for a charging call when the Devils didn't even complain.

One game but it's the Rangers!

The only thing this tells me for certain is that rookie Scott Laughton HAS to stay here and can't go back to junior. I mean, who you gonna run out there? Bill Barber?
