I know I'm a little late to the dance, but because of the short training camps I wasn't able to make my awards predictions before the season.

Enjoy.

Norris- Alex Pietrangelo
Alex is ready to take that next step into the leagues elite defenceman. Given the Blues very defensive system, Pietrangelo will have solid defensive numbers. Combine that with the time he will see on the power-play with the Blues young snipers and he should rack up the points as well.

Dark Horse- Alex Edler

Lady Byng- Jason Pominville
Every year the guy puts up points and doesn't take penalties. This is always a hard one to predict, but since that seems to be the criteria I'll take Pominville.

Dark Horse- Jordan Eberle

Hart- Pavel Datsyuk
I picked the Wings to win the Western Conference, and to do that they will need an outstanding year from Datsyuk. I like that he played during the lockout and is in mid-season form. He's one of the best all-around players in the world and I think he will continue to show that this year.

Dark Horse- Marian Hossa

Art Ross- Steven Stamkos
He has racked up three straight seasons of 90 or more points and every year he just seems to be getting better. I think 50 goals in 48 games is a possibility this season, and if he does that he should also lead the league in points as well.

Dark Horse- Jordan Eberle

Calder- Brendan Smith
No Nikolas Lidstrom means someone has to step in. While he is never going to be Lidstrom, Smith is still ready to play a big role on the Wings. Like most D there may be growing pains for the first 15-20 games, but look to Smith to become a star in the second half of the season and sneak into the Calder running.

Dark Horse- Reilly Smith

Jack Adams- Lindy Ruff
I picked the Sabres to win the Northeast Division and if they do that Ruff should win the award.

Dark Horse- Todd Richards

Richard- Steven Stamkos
As I said before, 50 goals in 48 game is a possibility. Even if he doesn't do it, there still isn't a better goal scorer in the game.

Dark Horse- James Neal

Selke- Pavel Datsyuk
I picked him as the MVP and if he is going to win that award, he will win the Selke as well. The guy is one of the top 5 most complete players in the world and I think he rides that to another Selke.

Dark Horse- Ryan Kesler

Vezina- Pekka Rinne
Even in a short season, there are a few things that will be certain. The Preds will win games. The Preds will play defensive hockey. And Rinne will start 95% of the games for them. Add those three things up and Rinne will have a very good season and win the Vezina.

Dark Horse- Ryan Miller

Well those are my picks, what are yours?

That's a wrap.
