Just a few notes on the scrimmage before I name who I would have on the Vancouver Canucks opening night roster.

- Raymond/Schroeder/Kassian- they were the best line on the ice last night. Schroeder and Raymond look like they have played together for years and Kassian's size controlled the puck on the boards and cause problems in front of the net.

- Archibald- nothing really special, but the puck seemed to follow him all night. I like how he used his size along the boards.

- Sedin/Sedin/Burrows- they look ready.

- Higgins/Lapierre/Hansen- they were solid and look ready to start the year as the third-line.

- Corrado- another solid, safe game. He played well positionally and moved the puck well. If he wasn't going to play 25-30 minutes a night in Junior, I would consider him for the number 6 D spot. He should be ready next season and will carry 3 years with a nice cap hit of 600K per going forward.

- Ebbett- didn't really notice the guy, but then again he didn't have anyone to play with.

- D- as a whole played well. Garrison is settling in and his teammate did a better job of finding him when he was open. He had a couple nice scoring chances.

- Alberts- looked a little sour. He was actually hitting guys (if you could call it that). Guess he is growing tried of guys going around him.

My Opening Night Roster

Sedin/Sedin/Burrows
Kassian/Schroeder/Raymond
Hansen/Lapierre/Higgins
Weise/Malhotra/Archibald
Ebbett

Hamhuis/Bieksa
Edler/Garrison
Ballard/Tanev
Vandermeer/Barker

Schneider
Luongo

- I like the way the second-line has played in practice and I’m willing to see how they look at game speed.

- I like the size that Archibald has and I thought the puck followed him during the scrimmages. He is on a bit of a short leash for me, but as long as he’s willing to finishes checks and fight a little, I have him on the fourth-line.

- I’ve always like Vandermeer and I felt that Barker and Ebbett had good camps and did a lot of things well.

Well that is my team.

What do you think?

What's yours look like?

That's a wrap.
