With an abundance of young forwards with star potential in Edmonton, veteran forward Ales Hemsky could find himself on the way out sooner than later.

According to a report from TheFourthPeriod.com, the New Jersey Devils are among several teams looking to add a playmaking winger to their roster and they could be targeting Oilers forward Ales Hemsky

TheFourthPeriod cited that the Oilers need and interest in adding to their defense core could potentially lead to a deal between the Oilers and Devils, who have eight NHL defenseman on their roster and a few good defenseman ready and waiting in the wings.

While I personally don't expect to see Hemsky in a Devils uniform anytime soon, a potential deal would make sense for both teams.

The more likely scenario, in my opinion, is the Devils attempting to and possibly re-signing Petr Sykora and trying to fill any other holes on their roster from within.

Jacob Josefson and Stephen Gionta are both believed to be suffering from minor injuries and they will not play for Albany tonight.

TSN hockey insider Bob McKenzie said live on TSN that a lot of teams are talking trade and he expects some trades and signings to be announced once the CBA is ratified and the league is back to regular business. The CBA could be ratified and the MOU could be signed as early as today.
