Hey hey Hockeybuzzards! Kicking off the first morning of "we have actual NHL games in sight for 2013" with a little "Who Am I?" challenge! But before we jump into that action, here's the solution to edition 31...
1. I was a four time league MVP (NHL MVP in 1933,'35, '36 & '38)
2. I am a hall of fame member. (Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1947)
3. I played an active role in one of the more direct predecessors to an annual NHL event. (Placed the career ending hit on Ace Bailey, which lead to the Ace Bailey benefit game in 1934, recognized as the first all star game. Bailey presented a trophy to the NHL to be awarded in an annual All Star game to benefit injured players, but the game was not consistently held until the 47-48 season)
4. I played for a team which won their first franchise Stanley Cup (1928-29 Boston Bruins)
5. I am a two time championship coach. (Coach of the 1943 & 1944 AHL Calder Cup champion Buffalo Bisons)
Who Am I? I'm.......................Eddie Shore!!!
Now for the big 3-2. Here are your five clues, and............begin:
1. I am a 10th round draft pick.
2. I was drafted in the same NHL draft year as a coach from my first NHL team.
3. I am a two time Stanley Cup winner.
4. I have two Olympic medals.
5. It was over seven years from the time I was drafted that I played my 1st NHL game.
