The dust is only beginning to settle, but it appears that there could be some trade movement in the NHL, possibly involving Chicago, between now and the actual start of an abbreviated season in a couple of weeks.

I would not expect any huge deals, but names like Niklas Hjalmarsson and Michal Frolik have been mentioned and certainly the Hawks have some significant depth now on the blueline to deal from, especially with the offseason signings of Michal Rozsival and Sheldon Brookbank.

The Hawks were in the market for a center before the lockout. Ottawa and Montreal are two teams to watch as far as dance partners, though there will be a number of active teams.

As far as Rockford, NCAA and junior players, I would expect to see the usual suspects—Marcus Kruger, Andrew Shaw, Nick Leddy, Brandon Bollig and possibly Ben Smith in Chicago. All of these players have had good seasons at Rockford, and all appear to have matured. C/W Philip Danault could see some time in Chicago at the end of his junior season and GM Stan Bowman will likely try to find some ice time for Brandon Saad at some point.

In the meantime, you can continue to check out AHL and junior action, as well as all NHL games when play actually resumes here:
