The clock is creeping closer to 2013 and it would appear that hockey could be following close behind. If the NHL and NHLPA get their acts together and get us our hockey back then at least 2013 can get started on the right foot.

I know you Anaheim Ducks fans out there are itching to read an NHL Ducks related blog at some point. I say fear not! When hockey resumes there will be Ducks blogs aplenty! But, until then, I want to wish you and yours a very happy, wonderful and prosperous New Year!

Hey, look on the bright side - even if there isn't NHL hockey to watch, we can all take pride in the fact that we have all survived the atomic, zombie, Mayan Apocalypse of 2012!

Happy 2013!

Before I go I'll throw is a few 2012 Ducks related tidbits just for kicks. If you'll recall the Ducks had a great second-half last season before falling off and missing the playoffs. Anaheim finished 2011 with a sad 10-21-6 record.

Fortunately, 2012 would prove to be much more lucrative in terms of wins. From January on the team went a collective 24-15-6. Many of the Ducks biggest stars shined brightest from January on. Here are some of the Ducks strong and no-so-strong performances of 2012.

1. Anaheim Ducks wins in 2012? 24
2. Teemu Selanne goals in 2012? 15
3. Corey Perry goals in 2012? 23
4. Bobby Ryan gola sin 2012? 18
5. Jonas Hiller wins in 2012? 21
6. Ryan Getzlaf goals in 2012? 5
7. Dan Ellis wins in 2012? 0

The Ellis stat was a joke, but the Getzlaf one I put on purpose. Had Ryan been able to have a similar resurgence, I truly believe the Ducks could have found a way into the playoffs and who knows...maybe the Kings don't get in and maybe the New Jersey Devils win the franchises fourth Stanley Cup.
