The Albany Devils extended their winning streak to four games in fine fashion last night. The Devils hosted the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and pulled out a convincing 6-3 win. Here are some notes on that game as well as some New Jersey Devils prospect updates.

- After the night he had, I have to start with Bobby Butler. As his statistics would tell you, he was fantastic last night. He was all over the ice creating chances and he filled the net four times. He had an assist, six shots and a plus-5 rating to go with those goals. Butler now has a four game point streak and 10 points (six goals, four assists) in his last six games. He's obviously really starting to heat up and play to the level that he was expected to play at. I still think when it's all said in done he'll have a shot to earn a top-9 spot with the big club.

- Keith Kinkaid had another good night at the office stopping 24-of-27 in the win. Kinkaid made a few spectacular saves to keep the Devils in front and was once again one of their better players. Kinkaid is now 4-0-0 in December with a 1.50 goals against average and .952 save percentage.

- Jacob Josefson got back on track last night picking up two assists in the win. Josefson broke a bit of a mini slump as those were his first points in three games.

- Harri Pesonen has a couple of points (goal and an assist) in the win. He now has three points and 10 shots in four December games.

- Joe Whitney continues to stay red hot as he picked up another two assists and now has six points in his last four games and 12 points in 15 games on the year.

- In the WHL, Devils defence prospect Damon Severson picked up two assist in Kelowna's 3-1 win over Lethbridge on National television (game could be seen on Sportsnet in Canada and NHL Network in USA). Severson impressed me with his good, quick reads with the puck, willingness to play physical and a few good rushes with the puck. That said, as two WHL scouts told me after he was drafted, he is very talented but still raw and is still learning how to play the game. He'll continue to get better with time.

- In action across the CHL tonight: Ben Thomson and Ben Johnson. They'll square off against each other as the Kitchener Rangers take on the Windsor Spitfires.

- Myself and five other credentialed CHL writers published our collaborated top-30 NHL Draft rankings yesterday. You can view them at TheHockeyGuys.
