The Albany Devils lost their second consecutive game in a shootout Friday night, this time against the St. John's IceCaps. Here are some notes on that game as well as some New Jersey Devils prospects.

- Keith Kinkaid got the nod in goal and stopped 26-of-29 as well as 3-of-5 in the shootout. Not a great start, but he gave the team a chance to win and that's all they can ask for.

- Albany is in action again tonight, once again playing the IceCaps. I expect Jeff Frazee will get the nod in goal. He's 2-1-2 on the season with a 1.94 goals against average and .917 save percentage.

- I don't know what's up with Albany, but apparently they need to work on their shootout skills. They're 0-4 in shootouts on the year and have lost back-to-back nights in the shootout. Jacob Josefson is one of the more talented guys on the team, scored in regulation last night and somehow didn't shoot in a five-man shootout. I don't understand that.

- Sticking with Josefson, as I said, he scored last night. He now has nine points in 12 games and is currently on a three-game point streak.

- Adam Henrique also scored last night. It was his fourth goal, and point, of the season. Perhaps that will wake him up a little bit.

- Mattias Tedenby had an assist and a shootout goal in the loss. He was also minus-3, though.

- Adam Larsson had an assist in the loss. That's six points in 12 games for him. Not bad for a second year pro making an adjustment playing in a more physical league.

- Ben Thomson was held off the scoresheet in a 3-1 Kitchener win over Erie last night. Thomson has been really quiet of late, tallying just two points in their last eight games.

- Reid Boucher was held off the scoresheet last night in a 3-2 Sarnia shootout loss to Sudbury. He did score two goals the night before against Barrie, though.

- Damon Severson was minus-1 and also did not register a point last night. His Kelowna Rockets fell 3-2 to the Tri-City Americans. Severson has eight points and a plus-3 rating in 20 games on the year.

- Stefan Matteau did not pick up a point last night in a 6-3 BLB Armada win, but he did pick up seven PIMs (charging + fighting in last five minutes). Matteau now has 18 points and a plus-9 rating in 21 games.

- In action across the CHL tonight: Ben Thomson, Ben Johnson, Reece Scarlett, Graham Black, and Damon Severson.
