The Albany Devils were back in action Friday night against the Providence Bruins desperate for a win - a win they couldn't get. The Devils dropped their fourth consecutive game, this time in shootout fashion losing 2-1 to the Bruins. Here are some notes on the game as well as some prospect notes.

- Alexander Urbom returned to the lineup last night and played in his first game since October 20th. The 6'5" defenseman apparently decided it was a good idea to get in a fight in his return after missing time with injury. While I didn't see it, from what I was told from a couple of writers at the game, he didn't do too well. Hopefully Urbom sticks to working on his game instead of dropping the mitts. That's not his style and with how the Devils have been playing this year, they certainly need him on the ice.

- Keith Kinkaid had a fantastic outing between the pipes last night. He stopped 37-of-38 in the 2-1 shootout loss. That was an excellent bounce back start after a couple mediocre games.

- The A-Devs are back in action tonight against Sean Couturier, Brayden Schenn and the Adirondack Phantoms. I expect Jeff Frazee to start tonight given the fact it's a back-to-back situation. Albany will need a good start from him if they want any chance to win.

- Adam Henrique picked up his 3rd goal of the season in the loss. He had three shots and a plus-1 rating to go along with the goal. It's been a struggle for Henrique down in Albany this year. I'm not sure if he's still tired from the playoff run, he just can't get into playing in the AHL again or if he's legitimately struggling. Either way, he should have more than three points through nine games.

- Bobby Butler, Harri Pesonen, Jacob Josefson and Adam Larsson were all held off the scoresheet in the loss. Mattias Tedenby sat for the first time last night, likely in favor of Joe Whitney. Whitney added an assist and had two shots in the loss.

- Scott Wedgewood played 40 minutes in the Trenton Titans 2-1 loss to the Reading Royals last night. Wedgewood stopped 13-of-14 in his time. I believe he started the game so I'm not sure what led to the change in goal.

- Reid Boucher had a goal and an assist in a 4-2 Sarnia win over Guelph Friday night. The American winger, who will be on USA's World Junior team in all likelihood, has 19 points in 19 games on the year.

- Ben Johnson was held off the scoresheet in a 5-3 Windsor loss to Plymouth last night. After the game Spitfires GM Warren Rychel told members of the media that changes would be made to the roster. It will be interesting to see who's moved out and how it would affect Johnson. For the record, I'd be shocked if he was the player or one of the players Rychel trades.

- Ben Thomson had a goal, an assist and four PIMs (two roughing penalties) in a 3-1 Kitchener Rangers win over the Soo Greyhounds.

- Damon Severson was plus-2 with 7PIMs, including a fighting major, in an 8-1 Kelowna win over Red Deer. I'm surprised Severson couldn't get in on the scoring parade, to be honest.

- Stefan Matteau had a goal, an assist, four PIMs and won 3-of-7 faceoffs in a 9-4 BLB Armada win over the Moncton Wildcats. It was a good night at the office for Matteau.

- Graham Black and Reece Scarlett are the only Devils prospects in action tonight across the CHL as their Swift Current Broncos take on the Prince Albert Raiders.
