Casey Cizikas scored his third goal of the season to tie the score at one late in the first period against the Hershey Bears. They were on a 5 on 3, but the point is, he tied the score giving Nino and Donovan the assists.

With only a minute left of the first, still on the power play, DeFazio scores his fourth of the season getting a puck past Holtby.

Charles Wang opened his doors and his wallet and gave away tickets to Saturday and Sunday's games which are now both 'sold out.' Connecticut needs the mental reprieve as much as any one else. They too are facing a long road of clean up and restoration.

I decided to check out the AHL radio feed, only because I felt guilty spending $7 to watch a game on line when I could be donating that money to the Red Cross for Sandy relief.

Kevn Poulin is in net again, and according to Twitter, Anders Nilsson is in a suit while Ken Reiter is dressed as back-up. Also, in an effort to shore up their defense, Jordan Hill has been signed to a PTO and is dressed tonight for the Tigers.

It took only 19 seconds into the second period for the Bears to tie the game at two on a turn-over. David Ullstrum, who left the first period early, did not return for the second. He has a lower body injury and will not return to the game. And another one bites the dust.

At 10:43 of the second, Casey Cizikas stuck up for Nino who took a stick to the face from an ex-Sound Tiger now on the Bears. Cizikas is not a fighter, but he did what he felt he had to and took a fighting major in his first fight of the season.

Brett Gallant dropped the gloves with Ryan Stoa (who?) after a Oleksy high stick. Sundstrom was given a high sticking penalty as well for two minutes but Gallant and Stoa were given five each so there is no power play.

McDonald put a big hit on Mitchel then they drop the gloves and this is turning into a night at the fights instead of a hockey game. Tempers are running high and there may be no one left on the bench soon. 13:24 was the time of the fight.

Riley didn't want to miss out on the fun and dropped the gloves right off the faceoff with Clackson. Also there was some "ya-hoo" was escorted from the building but the announcers wouldn't say what it was. Gotta check twitter. (Okay, the Yahoo threw a water bottle into the Bears penalty box. Say bye-bye.)

Highsticking, Cross Checking, Boarding - this game is out of hand and they are running out of room in the penalty box as the Bears continue to go after Nino Niederreiter. But the Sound Tigers score on the power play to make it 3 - 2 as Brock Nelson works hard on the doorstep of Holtby.

Hershey gets their third power play of the game in the final minute of the second period and their are boos as Bears leave the penalty box. They must have been packed liked sardines.

The third period starts and the Sound Tigers have 30 shots on goal to 13 and 32 penalty minutes to 40 for the Bears

Surprisingly, actual hockey was played in the third period, but no scoring. The crowd was into the game and you could hear them behind the radio play-by-play. The Sound Tigers get their eighth power play opportunity as Ness is run into and pushed into Poulin. Maybe they can score on the man advantage again and give themselves a little cushion.

Nino Niederreiter had his stick slashed out of his hands and Bridgeport gets a two man advantage as Marshal heads to the box for slashing. Nope. The score remains the same.

With 1:30 left of the third and an empty net, the Sound Tigers go one the power play as Sundstrom takes a high stick from Schilling. With a 5 on 3 advantage as Nelson was hooked, Holtby back in net trys to hang to keep the BST from adding to their tally.

Tigers win 3 - 2 in the first of their four meetings with the Bears.

Amazingly, Travis Hamonic stayed in the game and was not tossed for misconduct. Wow.
Brock Nelson, Nino Niederreiter and Brandon DeFazio were the three stars of the game.
