There are four games in Europe on Wednesday involving current Flyers players, plus a pair games for Flyers prospects. The start times are listed in eastern U.S./Canada time:

EUROPEAN GAMES

KHL: HC Donbass Donetsk @ Dynamo Moscow (11:30 AM)

Flyers checking forward Ruslan Fedotenko is officially day-to-day with an injury suffered in the first period Donbass' last game; one match after Fedotenko scored a hat trick and dominated in the faceoff circle going head-to-head against Evgeni Malkin.

Today, Fedotenko's Ukraine-based KHL team is in Russia to take on one of the league's powerhouses; defending Gagarin Cup champion Dynamo Moscow. Boasting a circuit-leading 45 points, Dynamo is currently powered by the likes of Alexander Ovechkin, Nicklas Bäckström, Richard Gynge (last year's top goal-scorer in Sweden's Elitserien) and defenseman Filip Novak.

There has been no report as of yet as to whether Fedotenko (15 GP, 4 G, 3 A, 7 PTS, 18:10 TOI) will be able to play in this game. Even if he does, the game is one of the toughest that the current 9th-place team in the Western Conference will face all season.

A free webcast of the game is available. Additionally, I will be doing live in-game updates and commentary on the match for eurolivescores.com.

CSKA Moscow vs. Metallurg Novokuznetsk (11:30 AM)

Flyers goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov has not started a game for CSKA since Oct. 17. With the team playing today and Friday prior to a league schedule break until Nov. 14 for the international Karjala Cup tournament, Bryzgalov could use the work and may get one of the games.

In four starts to date, Bryzgalov has a 1-3-0 record, 3.27 GAA and .887save percentage. The club's usual starter, Rastislav Stana, has a 10-2-0 record, 1.58 GAA, and .944 save percentage.

CSKA is currently in 4th-place in the Western Conference. Novokuznetsk is 5th in the East. The visiting team has several import players on the roster whose names will be familiar to North American fans, including former Flyers forward Randy Robitaille, veteran tough guy Chris Simon, defenseman Brent Sopel and goaltender Tyson Sexsmith.

A free webcast of the game will be available here.

DEL: Eisbären Berlin @ Hannover Scorpions (1:30 PM)

The defending DEL champs had been playing good hockey of late but stumbled in their last game. Even so, Claude Giroux and Danny Briere set up each of the three goals the Polar Bears scored in the game; with Giroux earning two assists and Briere one.

Both players have recorded points in every game they've played for Berlin to date, and they have matching totals of 3 goals, 9 assists and 12 points apiece in their 5 games.

Eisbären got off to a bit of a sluggish start this season and currently sits in 5th place in the league. The club is the second-highest team in the league -- and figures to take over the number one spot in that category soon if the NHL lockout persists -- but they also have allowed the most goals in the league. Hannover, which is in 11th place, is an opponent that Eisbären should handle with relatively little difficulty if they bring something close to their "A" game.

There is no webcast for today's game. Live updates will be available here.

EIHL: Sheffield Steelers @ Coventry Blaze (2:30 PM)

Tom Sestito managed to stay out of the penalty box in his last game, but he went pointless in a desultory loss for Sheffield against the Belfast Giants. In his seven EIHL games to date, Sestito has 3 goals, 3 assists, 6 points and 84 penalty minutes.

Today, Sestito and company are on the road to take on the Coventry Blaze. Live updates will be available here.

PROSPECT GAMES

SuperElit: Brynäs J20 vs. Västerås J20 (1:00 PM)

Flyers defense prospect Fredric Larsson has missed the last two games with an upper-body ailment but may be ready to return for this game. The game will be broadcasted for free online at the team's Bamuser channel and live updates will be available here.

MHL: MHK Spartak @ MVD (1:00 PM)

Defense prospect Valeri Vasiliev was one of the few plus-rated players on his team in its ugly loss last game. The club remains in 2nd place in the Western Division. Today, the team on eighth-place MVD. An English boxscore of the game will be posted here.

WHL: Portland Winterhawks vs. Everett Silvertips (10:00 PM)

Forward prospect Taylor Leier returned to the lineup last game after a one-game absence and played a strong game, scoring a goal and adding an assist. With a win tonight, Portland has a chance to take over first place in the U.S. Division. A free radio stream is available (Portland broadcast) or a webcast stream can be purchased for $6.99.

TUESDAY RESULTS: READ AND SIMMONDS SCORE GAME-WINNERS

Both Matt Read and Wayne Simmonds had big days for their respective European teams on Tuesday. Each had multi-point games and tallied the game-winning goal.

Read had a nice assist in the first period and then scored an even prettier goal in the third period as surging Södertälje (seven wins in its last eight games) defeated Västerås for just the second road win SSK has had this season. Read's linemate, Damien Fleury, had two goals and an assist in the game. Read now has 12 points (3 goals, 9 assists) in 9 games with Södertälje.

Coming off the ugly racial-taunting incident directed at him last game on the road, Simmonds got a warm welcome from the 3,969 fans in Liberec who came out to see their struggling team take on Kometa Brno. Liberec fell behind 2-0 early, as former Flyers forward Tomas Divisek and Jakub Svoboda scored for Brno.

Simmonds kicked off the comeback with a goal just 1:42 into the second period. Liberec tied the game midway through the period. In the third stanza, Simmonds put the Tigers ahead to stay at the 3:43 mark. The team held on the rest of the way to win, 3-2. Ondrej Pavelec got the win in goal, while Chris Stewart returned to the Liberec lineup after missing one game.

In four games since leaving Germany to sign with Liberec, Simmonds has three goals (one scored via penalty shot) and two assists for five points. He also has 16 penalty minutes.
