BST Lose More Than A Game

Certainly a lose for the talented Bridgeport Sound Tigers had to happen sooner or later. And I believe I even said they would lose last night's game. But it seems they may have lost more than just the game.

Kirill Kabanov was battling along the boards and ended up at Nick Petrecki's of the Shark's feet. He quickly skates to the bench to be attended to. Spectators say it is a 'serious' hand injury.

Let's think back how many players lost time due to hand injuries from skate blades. Many that impacted their ability to play at the same level after recovery. This is a harsh blow for the Sound Tigers and for Kabanov who was hoping he would find a spot on the Islanders -- whenever they start playing again.

Waiting for official word from the NY Islanders as to the severity of the injury and the time table for his return. Kirill is the second player injured so far this season as Calvin deHaan is lost for the season and underwent surgery on Thursday for his shoulder injury. Let's hope this isn't a trend for them.

Sideboards: Be on the lookout for an article by blogger buddy BD Gallof regarding Hofstra University and the Town of Hempstead. It should be a doozie!
